Juju Noda keeps the championship open

Drexler Formula Cup - Automotodrom Brno (CZE)

For Juju Noda (Noda Racing) the success curve just doesn't stop. At the 7th round of the Drexler Formula Cup in Brno, the Japanese driver scored her second double victory of this year's season. First, Noda set the fastest lap times in qualifying and took pole position for both races. Outstanding was her fastest lap for the 2nd race on Sunday, where she sensationally drove around the Masaryk Circuit with a 1:51.378 min and distanced the competition with Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) and Benjamin Berta (Franz Wöss Racing). Noda then made no secret in both races to the Drexler Formula Cup that the victory will only go through you. It was really exciting for the other podium positions, where Sandro Zeller and Benjamin Berta fought a duel on equal terms, as they have done so often this season. Benjamin Berta came out on top in both races and thus created a points cushion in the battle for the championship, which will be decided in October at the finale in Mugello (ITA). Behind the top three, Hungarian Janos Magyar (Magyar Racing Team) finished fourth both times.

The Formula 3 Trophy classification was dominated by Vaclav Safar (GT2 Motorsport) in the Dallara F309 prepared by Franz Wöss Racing. He decided both races in his favor and was able to relegate Andre Petropoulos (Team Hoffmann Racing) and Luca Iannaccone (Franz Wöss Racing) to the other ranks. In the Formula Light class, Dr. Norbert Groer (Team Hoffmann Racing) won Saturday's race to put himself in a very good position for the finale at Mugello. He won in front of Walter Steding (Team Hoffmann Racing) and Falk Schwarze (Schwarze Motorsport). Walter Steding took revenge in the 2nd race on Sunday with the victory in the Formula Light. Dr.Norbert Groer missed the podium with fifth place, while Stephan Glaser (Jo Zeller Racing) and Falk Schwarze took the other podium places. Since the champion in the Formula 3 Trophy has already been determined with Marcel Tobler (Jo Zeller Racing), the Formula 3 and Formula Light races at Mugello will be highly competitive. With 34 points, Benjamin Berta has a comfortable lead over Sandro Zeller. At the last race this year, 25 points each are up for grabs for the winner. This does not mean that the battle is over and the question remains which role Juju Noda will play.
