Full house in Styria

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Red Bull Ring (AUT)

Next weekend (03-05 June) the Drexler Formula Cup will be visiting Styria. The circuit trophy at the Red Bull Ring has been one of the season's highlights for many years. This season, the Grand Prix circuit will not only be the venue for the Drexler Formula Cup and the Austrian Racing Car Championship, but also for the TOPJET F 2000 Italy Trophy drivers to compete for championship points. This means that the 3rd race weekend of the Drexler Formula Cup will have a more exciting field than it has had for a long time. "We expect around 36 Formula cars and drivers from twelve nations. This means that we can present the spectators with a very strong, internationally well-staffed field. Formula 3 will clearly set the tone," says coordinator Franz Wöss. The Drexler Cup coordinator and team manager from Schwarzenberg is looking forward to the home race in the Alps with the picturesque backdrop of the Red Bull Ring.

In Formula 3, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) has made things clear for the time being with his double victory in Monza and Imola. David Richert (Franz Wöss Racing) is within striking distance of the defending champion and definitely wants to consolidate his second position. Luca Iannaccone (Franz Wöss Racing) will have a hard time defending his third place in the standings. Umberto Vaglio (Living KC) is hot on the Italian's heels, as are Daniel Tapinos (Franz Wöss Racing) and Marcel Tobler (Jo Zeller Racing). In the Formula 3 Open category, Benjamin Berta (Team Hoffmann Racing) comes to the Red Bull Ring as the leader. The Hungarian has to deal with Cian Carey (Franz Wöss Racing) again. At the 2nd championship weekend in Imola, both drivers shared the race wins. In Formula Renault, victory in Styria can only go to the Hoffmann Racing team. Dr.Norbert Groer has been able to extend his lead in the standings since Imola. For his team mate Andre Petropoulos it will be important to close the gap to Groer. This year's circuit trophy promises a lot of excitement and a lot of motorsport, just as the fans want it to be, with free entry. With the Boss GP, Renault Clio Cup, P9 Challenge and SCC, as well as the TCR Eastern Europe and Suzuki Cup Europe, there is something for everyone.
On Friday (03 June), three free practice sessions are scheduled for the Drexler Automotive Formula Cup. The first qualifying session on Saturday (04 June) is scheduled for 13.10 hrs. The first race will take place at 16.45 hrs. On Sunday morning (05 June), the 2nd qualifying session will take place at 9.00 am. Around 14.50 hrs the lights will turn green for the 2nd race.
